tv knitting

Here are eight of the cotton mini stockings, a fun little project, each about 5".  The red isn't as bright as it appears, it's more like the color of tomato soup.  Adding bands of seed stitch, like the green stocking with the white toe and heel, distorted the shape.  The red candy cane stripes knitted into the white stocking, bottom right, got misplaced during the stitch decreases.
I still want to add the "2011" somehow, and attach a loop to hang the stockings.
I made two more washcloths in between.

Socks of All Sizes!

I made two cotton mini Christmas stockings from a pattern posted by Julie at Little Cotton Rabbits.  They're knitted flat (the green striped one) and stitched up the back, still have to add the little loop to hang it.  Before I stitch the green one, I might duplicate-stitch '2011' on it and add a little jingle bell.
The blue socks are finished!  I love 'em.  The second sock was finished in a week.  The diagonal design on the left sock is a different and easier stitch than the stitch to create the right-leaning diagonal.

One Blue Sock

I finished the first sock yesterday, two weeks from the start.  The cross-rib pattern looks like cables.

Coming Along

The socks are progressing, the cross-rib pattern is easy now.

Wildfoote Socks

I've started knitting a pair of Diagonal Cross-Rib Socks from Interweave's "Favorite Socks" book.
The cast-on was called the old Norwegian method, and I found a video on YouTube.  It was difficult to learn, but I kept practicing till it became as easy and familiar as playing Patty Cake.

Big Beanie

I re-knit the gray to remove the superfluous pink row, and as I knit to the top of the beanie, it seemed quite tall for a beanie.  And I had only a few yards of gray yarn remaining.  Sure enough, it's too tall, so I will unravel the gray back a few inches and re-knit.  It'll fit more snugly when I attach a big button to the pink band where it overlaps.

Time Travel

So it's been two years, to the day, and I'm back!  Happily knitting a beanie from a Spud & Chloe pattern.  Notice how the outside of the beanie has that extra pink row showing.  That's a mistake, of course, so I'll be un-knitting back to the pink.  But how could I possibly mind??  I'm glad to be creating again!
